Sam @ Parenthetical

Your description of I Am Not a Serial Killer reminds me of two of my favorite "under the radar" books: Ready, Okay! by Adam Cadre and Basic Eight by Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket).

In the former, you know from the beginning that by the end, almost everyone the narrator loves will be dead. In the latter, you meet a group of 8 high school best friends who will somehow be involved with a boy's death. Both tell the story backwards, starting out quirky-hilarious and ending up dark and devastating. Highly recommended!
